Top Ten 2014 Release I'm Dying To Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

1. Split Second (Pivot Point #2) by Kasie West
I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again. Pivot Point is one of most pleasantly surprising reads of the year for me so I really cannot wait to get my hands on Split Second.

2. Cress (Lunar Chronicles #3) by Marissa Meyer
Simply because I’m obsessed with this series. Lunar Chronicles has a set of characters that are all so likable. They are the first set of characters that has never annoyed me in any way.

3. Minders by Michelle Jaffe
I’m actually partial with this book. On one hand, it sounds like it’s going to end tragically but on the other, I’m loving that synopsis so much I’m crossing my fingers I’m wrong.

4. Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy
It has the CUTEST premise ever! I swear I faint everytime I read the
summary.

5. The Shadow Thorne (The Ascendance Trilogy #3) by Jennifer Nielsen
I loved The False Prince and The Runaway King so much and the first book reminded me a lot of another favorite series of mine, The Thief of Eddis by Megan Whalen Turner. This is the last book in the trilogy so I’m overly enthused for this!

6. Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins
I am in love with Rachel Hawkins. I read everything that has her name on it.

7. Landline by Rainbow Rowell
I loved Rainbow’s Fangirl and although this is not a YA, I still want need to read this. I also consider this as a stepping stone into my quest to venturing the more mature genre.

8. Silver Shadows (Bloodlines #5) by Richelle Mead
I haven’t even read The Fiery Heart yet but I know I’m going to love it and I know that it’ll make more obsessed with the series so I’m just getting ahead of myself here. :)

9. Hexed (The Witch Hunter #1) by Michelle Krys
Did you know that my most favorite paranormal beings are witches? Or that my favorite color is teal? Now can you guess why I’m dying for a copy of Hexed?

10.Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
"In the tradition of Kristin Cashore and Cassandra Clare comes this brilliant, unputdownable, star-crossed romance about the curse of winning." Well, that sums it all up.

I didn't include my other most anticipated 2014 releases because I already have ARC's of them and some I've featured the last time I participated in TTT.

Top Ten Sequels I Can't Wait To Get My Hands On

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted at The Broke and the Bookish.

1. The Fiery Heart (Bloodlines #4) by Richelle Mead
Expected publication: November 19th 2013
There are no words to describe how obsessed I am with this series. Though the last book didn't quite meet my expectations like the rest did, I'm still so very eager to read the upcoming books in the series.

Expected publication: November 19th 2013
I think I'm one of the first 300 people who got into this fandom about two years ago. I couldn't recommend this enough to my peers, but I'm just so happy now that it finally got the attention it deserves. And even happier that this will be released this month!

3. Champion (Legend #3) by Marie Lu
Expected publication: November 5th 2013
I know this releases today *happy dance* but I probably won't be able to read this until next week. I also hope the ending works out well for everyone, unlike some other dystopian books there. *coughcough*

4. Cress (Lunar Chronicles #3) by Marissa Meyer
Expected publication: February 4th 2014
This series is my newest found obsession and it's what got me into reading more fairy tale retellings. I literally love EVERYTHING about books 1 and 2. The plot, the characters... it's perfect!

5. Split Second (Pivot Point #2) by Kasie West
Expected publication: February 11th 2014
Now this is one of the most surprising reads of the year for me. I've never really read other stories with parallel universes so this was very new to me.

6. Ruin and Rising (The Grisha #3) by Leigh Bardugo
Expected publication: June 3rd 2014
I'm excited to read this but I'm also very nervous about it. I already have an OTP and I'm worried that they might not get together in the end. I'll probably get depressed the rest of my life if it happens. :(

7. Into the Still Blue (Under the Never Sky #3) by Veronica Rossi
Expected publication: January 28th 2014
I already have an ARC of this (thanks to Harper and Edelweiss!) and though I'm very much excited to read it, I'm also scared and I hate that Perry and Aria's story is finally going to end. :(

8. Untitled (The Raven Cycle #3) by Maggie Stiefvater
Expected publication: 2014
It's sad that this doesn't have a cover nor a title yet. It reminds me that it's still so far out of my reach. I haven't actually read The Dream Thieves yet. I ordered a copy from Book Depository a week before TDT's release but PhilPost sucks so it never arrived. But I finally bought a kindle copy so yay!

9. Untitled (The Queen's Thief #5) by Megan Whalen Turner
Expected publication: N/A

Looking at the goodreads page of The Raven Cycle #3 makes me sad but looking at this book's page depresses me. The Queen's Thief is an all-time favorite series of mine and it sucks that the books get released 4-6 years after the other and judging by the pattern of the books's release dates, this won't probably hit the shelves until 2016.

10. Untitled (Rithmatist #2) by Brandon Sanderson
Expected publication: 2015
Here's another Sanderson series that I fell in love with. This is not as popular among the Sanderson fans but I really like his YA's. What I can't get into is his more mature fantasy novels.

Top Ten Books on My Fall 2013 TBR

Top Ten Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week's topic is Top Ten Books on My Fall 2013 TBR List all which I'm branding as mandatory reads.;)

1. The Fiery Heart (Bloodlines #4) by Richelle Mead – Huge fan of Bloodlines series here! Even though I didn’t love The Indigo Spell as much as the first two books, I’m still eagerly anticipating for this.

2. Steelheart (Reckoners #1) by Brandon Sanderson – I loved, loved, loved Brandon’s The Rithmatist and I’ve heard a lot of positive [early] reviews for Steelheart so naturally, I’m also eager to read this book.

3. The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle #2) by Maggie Stiefvater – Because Gansey x Blue. And I’d read anything by Maggie Stiefvater.

4. World After (Penryn & the End of Days #2) by Susan Ee – I recently featured this in my WoW. I read the first book 2 years ago and even after all this time, I still can’t get over the ending!

5. Hunted (The Iron Druid Chronicles #6) by Kevin Hearne – I’ve already started on this one months ago but had to set it aside because of school. I still haven’t gotten around to reading it again so I’m putting it on my [mandatory] fall tbr list.

6. The Scorch Trials (Maze Runner #2) by James Dashner – I bought a copy of this during the sale in one of the local bookstores. I also cannot wait to see the movie as I’m also a fan of the first book.

7. Tiger’s Curse (The Tiger Saga #1) by Colleen Houck – Been hearing so many good things about this series. Thanks to my local bookstore I got the impulse to buy this (for 70% less) so off to [mandatory] fall tbr you are!

8. The Hallowed Ones (The Hallowed Ones #1) by Laura Bickle – Because vampire apocalypse. Need I say more?

9. The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten #2) by Julie Kagawa – Not a big fan of The Lost Prince but will be giving it a second chance because I heart Julie.

10. Monsters of Men (Chaos Walking #3) by Patrick Ness – I’ve put off reading this after I peeked at the ending, lol. I loved the first two books so much and the ending of this almost killed me. But still, I want to finish this series so I’m putting it on my [mandatory] fall tbr list.

Top Ten Books I Would Love To See As A Movie/TV Show

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This week's topic is Top Ten Books I Would Love to See As A Movie/TV Show (set in a perfect world...in which movies don't butcher the books we love.) Yeah because if movie adaptations do not murder every book adapted into film, that would be great.

1. The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson - I am in love with this book! You know that feeling the moment you start reading a book and you just start relaxing because you know it's going to be good? Yes, The Rithmatist is like that. I'm curious to see if the characters will be able to pull off the chalk drawings and the battles and of course, the CGI!

2. Unwind by Neal Shusterman - If I remember correctly, this has already been optioned for film years ago but I haven't heard of any updates since then. Unwind is one of the first dystopian books I've read and is also one of my favorites right up there with The Hunger Games so it will probably crush me if the movie murdered the book.

3. Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson - Unlike the rest of the books in this list, I actually didn't like Mistborn. However, I loved the world Brandon created here - the magic, the fight scenes... I would love to see those in the big screen.

4. Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi - And the sequel, Through the Ever Night, too! And maybe once I read the last book in the trilogy, I'd want to see it as a TV show.

5. Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley - Is the only realistic fiction in this list and is also one of my favorite contemps. I want to see this as a movie because I want to see Shadow's paintings in real life. Would be much better if the actor can pull off his paintings hee~

6. Cinder by Marissa Meyer - Ever since I read this book, I haven't stopped praying to the gods and goddesses of the book to movie adaptations that this would be made into a film. I loooove the world of Cinder and I'm very interested to see how Cinder and Kai would look like in real life as well as the androids and Queen Levana. I'd like to see how their glamour looks like. Also, Captain Thorne.

7. The Queen of Attolia and 8. The King of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner - If you know me well enough, it's not a secret that The Queen's Thief series is my all time favorite series evaaar! Needless to say, I want to see these books as a TV show because 1.) Eugenides 2.) Irene 3.) Eugenides' wit 4.) Eugenides x Irene 5.) The storyline 6.) The setting 7.) Repeat 1-7.

9. Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta - One of the most intense high fantasy books I have ever read. It's depressing and kinda tragic. The characters are not my favorite but I loved the plot and the surprises that came along with it. If this were to be made into a film/TV show, I'm expecting a high-budget studio to adopt this.

10. Pivot Point by Kasie West - Yes, please! Pivot Point is one of the most surprising reads for me this year. I loved the storyline but I loved the characters even better! I would love to see how the actors would portray the characters.

Top Ten Books On Your Fall TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish

Ohai there! It's my first time to participate in Top Ten Tuesday. This week's topic is: Top Ten Books On Your Fall TBR

1. The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa - Dude. Iron Fey series? Ash, Meghan and Puck? AND now with Ethan? Release it now! On second thought, I actually have an e-arc so no more waiting needed for me. ;)

2. Quintana of Charyn by Melina Marchetta - I liked the first book in the Lumatere Chronicles, Finnikin of the Rock, but the second book, Froi of Exiles, I loooooved so much. Which reminds me *looks at drafts* I haven't finished my review of the first two books and they've been sitting there since June. Heh. The ending of Froi of the Exiles was an evil cliffhanger, so I'm really excited to read this.

3. Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor - Akiva... Kaoru... and all those other weird but enticing creatures. I honestly can't remember all the happenings in the first book, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, but I distinctly remember loving the plot as well as the characters so much.

4. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater - I love Maggie's writing. The Wolves of Mercy Falls and The Scorpio Races were one of the better books I've read. I was just a little bummed by the ending of Forever, but her writing is incredible.

5. Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes & Michelle Rowen - "In a land where magic has been forgotten but peace has reigned for centuries, a deadly unrest is simmering. Three kingdoms grapple for power—brutally transforming their subjects’ lives in the process. Amidst betrayals, bargains, and battles, four young people find their fates forever intertwined" My gosh, can't that get anymore awesome? This looks like a total badass historical adventure YA.

6. Trapped by Kevin Hearne - If you've been hanging out around my blog for a while now, you'd know how much I love the books in The Iron Druid Chronicles. It's full of kickassery and badassery and hilarious characters and awesome mythologies!

7. Ashen Winter by Mike Mullin - I loved Ashfall and I can't wait to know more about Alex and what happened to his parents.

8. Snow White Sorrow by Cameron Jace - So, the name of the male protag is Loki Blackstar. I don't know him yet but his name alone already oozes with badass. I keep pitcuring him as some samurai-sh ninja. Anywhow, this is somewhat a retelling of Snow White with a little Anna Dressed in Black tone to it. How exciting is that?

9. Dark Seeker by Taryn Browning - This is the first book in the Seeker series. After reading so many YA with male MC's, I missed reading females MC's that can kick ass.

10. Valkyrie Rising by Ingrid Paulson - "What Ellie doesn’t anticipate is Graham’s infuriating best friend, Tuck, tagging along for the trip." - Yes, yes I'll read you. I think I'm going to love Elle and Tuck here. XD
