Stacking the Shelves is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews
Purchased:
The Amanda Project by Amanda Valentino and Melissa Kantor - Bought this because it sounds like Pretty Little Liars.
Shine by Jeri Smith-Ready - I thought this was the first book in the series, it's only today that I realized that it's the third. :/
Princess Ben by Catherine Gilbert Murdock - Loved Murdock's Dairy Queen series so I'm so excited to read this too!
Tiger's Quest by Colleen Houck - I got the first book for a bargained price last week so I'm very lucky to get this one for almost the same price (on a different bookstore) this week! ETA: ...And I only realized today that it's an ARC? O_o
What new books did you get this week? Post your links in the comments below so I can visit you back. :)
Princess Ben is a lot of fun, I remember enjoying it a lot.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading.
I heard great things about the Colleen Houck series, I hope you"ll like them all. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI always seem to do that, pick up what I think is the first and then realise it isn't. Then I'm stuch hunting down the first book!

These are all new to me, but I hope you enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteMy StS.
Thanks for stopping by my STS! Ugh that happened to me before when I bought the third book in the Iron Fey series and had to buy the first one too without even knowing if I'd like the novels. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI've made a few mistakes like that myself. I've bought the same book twice on a few occasions and I'm always getting mixed up between what I've bought and what is on my wishlist!
ReplyDeleteI hate it when I buy a book that is the third or fourth one in a series and then you have to purchase the rest without (as Heather said) knowing if you're going to like the books, the author's writing etc! Anyway, I've heard the Colleen Houck books are really good! :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new books!

My STS post!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! <3
I hate when I buy a book only to find out that's its like the fourth or fifth book in the series, meaning that I have to find and hunt down the earlier books. Enjoy your books.

I love Murdock's Dairy Queen as well! I really should read some of her other books. Enjoy your goodies and happy reading :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of these but happy reading!

I hate buying a book that's not clear about it being a series! I hope you enjoy all that you've got this week!
ReplyDeleteShine looks so good! And Catherine Murdock has another series?? I absolutely loved Dairy Queen! I'll have to check that new one out. I hope you enjoy all you got :)
ReplyDeleteHere's my STS!
I haven't read any of those books.
ReplyDeleteI also dislike those books that don't indicate if they're book 3 of however many books. I almost made a mistake buying a few in the bookstore.

Oooh, titles that I haven't heard of! :) You've made me curious - I'm looking them up on Goodreads now. Hope you enjoy!

I feel your pain about the series thing. I can't tell you how many times I've picked up a book only to find out later that it's a sequel in a series I haven't started. Haha. Usually it's from the library, though. Anyhow, I hope you end up liking the series. (:
ReplyDeleteI loved the first two books in the Shade series, but Shine just didn't really cut it for me. Hopefully, you'll love it more. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my haul.
I haven't heard of The Amanda Project, and ugh, how annoying. Hate it when it doesn't indicate the series. :( I can't say if it's good or not since I haven't read them, but I've heard of them, isn't the first one Shade? (I think)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading! :)
Heres mine

I've made the mistake of buying the wrong book in a series. Most recently, I thought it was the second book and i was the fourth -_- I hope you enjoy them nonetheless, have a great week :)

Nice selection! The Amanda Project is one of those I used to see in the bookstores all the time.
ReplyDeleteAnd ahhhh. I've definitely accidentally bought a book later in the series. :-/
Just wanted to say I love your header. :)
ReplyDeleteShine!! I'm still at Shift and can't wait to know what happens. Thanks for stopping by my STS.
ReplyDeleteI went to the bookstore last week looking for Robin McKinley's latest, Shadows, only to find that I was a day early :(
ReplyDeleteBut I came home with Stiefvater's Raven Boys and Dream Thieves (amazing! review coming soon), and a new one by Patrick Ness I didn't even know about (I loved The Knife of Never Letting Go series) called More Than This, which looks really cool (and has a great cover, so I bought it)
There were a bunch of other books I picked up and almost bought, but I restrained myself: Fangirl, by Rainbow Rowell, which I've heard so much about; Rose Under Fire, the companion book to Elizabeth Wein's Code Name Verity (which is amazing); Untold, the sequel to Sarah Rees Brennan's Unspoken, which was very original (loved her Demon's Lexicon series); Doll Bones, by Holly Black.
And I still have to go back and get Shadows!
Colleen Houck's first book is on my TBR. I hope you like the second one! Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteHere are my newest additions .
All these books are new to me but Princess Ben really sounds interesting. Am I correct in thinking that it's an LGBT fairy tale? Because if it is, it would really be awesome. Certainly a new take for our fairy tale stories.
