I will admit that the cover reminds me of a runway and kind of a turnoff. Maybe if I get around to reading it, I will get it.Alexis @ Reflections of a Bookaholichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13745513625965620545noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4955255723371756696.post-8054060124168023302011-12-16T05:22:11.927+08:002011-12-16T05:22:11.927+08:00Ohhhhhh, I just read this book the other day too! ...Ohhhhhh, I just read this book the other day too! And I can definitely understand what you're saying, Chel! :) Even though for the most part I adored the way Tahereh Mafi wrote this book, there were times that I felt they were overdone and underdone. But I guess that was kind of what TM was going for when she wrote it LOL! It all depended on how Juliette was feeling! x)

Awesome honest review, Chel! It sucks that you didn't like this one as much as you hoped, but I'm still really glad you enjoyed it! :)Mimi Valentinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04241457025232914551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4955255723371756696.post-75863648522364660122011-12-16T01:36:19.208+08:002011-12-16T01:36:19.208+08:00Everyone has raved about this one so I like that y...Everyone has raved about this one so I like that your review isn't as praiseworthy because it allows me to get a better picture of what works and doesn't. I've kind of avoided this one because I'm afraid I'll get annoyed by the strike-throughs but also because it seems like the language is really flowery based on the excerpt I've read. It's too bad you couldn't connect with the characters and didn't find the ending satisfying, Chel.A Canadian Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07127164685941412250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4955255723371756696.post-88471240962792919852011-12-15T23:16:40.880+08:002011-12-15T23:16:40.880+08:00I haven't finished it since I had to take a sh...I haven't finished it since I had to take a shorter break, but I actually find myself really liking the strike-throughs. They're unique and let us feel a bit more closely what Juliette feels!

It sucks you couldn't quite connect to her and you disliked the ending. I'm quite curious to get to it and see what you mean... Great review though.Bexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01456550817122908083noreply@blogger.com
